Dorothy Renee Beard was born on July 30, 1966, in Chidester, Arkansas, to the parentage of Cornelius Beard, Sr. and Ionia Mae Vaughan Beard.

Dorothy was a faithful volunteer with charities including Susan G. Komen and Cancer Relay for Life and a member of the Circle of Sistaz, a girlfriend’s social group focused on volunteerism.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Cle Ester Thompson. Those left to cherish precious memories include her sister, Patricia Ann Vaughan Scott; brother, Cornelius Beard, Jr.; sister, Geneat Beard-Walton (Paul Lee Walton); sister, Frances Beard; niece, Linda Daniels Cross (Melvin Cross); niece, Rose Scott; nephew, Cedric Giles; nephew, Cornel Walton; niece, Azalea Walton; great niece, Stacey Allen; great nephew, Michael Brown; 2 great-great nieces (Cassidy and Ayanni) and 1 great-great nephews (Michael Brown, Jr); a precious goddaughter, Jadah Harris; and a host of cousins, colleagues, and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday September 19, 2015 at Pleasant Hill MBC with Rev. Spencer Hughes officiating. Interment will be held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday September 18, 2015 from 12-6:00 p.m. at Reddick Funeral Home
