Fatal accident at Leslie by the explosion of a gasoline tank at the round house this morning at 9:15, John L Morrissey, Master mechanic of the local shops of the NR Line, was killed outright, his head being partially severed and carried by the tank onto the roof of the round house, and his body almost cremated before the flames were extinguished. Others injured: Alderman R. G. Flippin, Ralph Leonard, B. Q. Vaughn.

Mr. Morrissey was slightly more that 28 years old, having been born at Springfield, MO., Feb. 23, 1885. He was a member of the Catholic Church, having taken the Holy Communion when he was thirteen years of age. He was devoted to his wife and provided their home with everything to make it attractive and comfortable.

He came to Leslie in 1911 and was master mechanic at the local shops of the North Arkansas Line.

Saturday at 2 P.M., Rev. J A Reynolds, pastor of the M. E. Church, South, will conduct funeral services at the residence on Second Street and the regular funeral services of the Catholic Church will be conducted at Van Buren, Ark., where interment will be made.
