William H MARSHALL

Fairview Cemetery
Crawford County,
Arkansas

December 20, 1841 - February 9, 1896

William H. Marshall was born in Monmouth County, New Jersey, October 20, 1841, Which place he lived until the age of 17 years, when he concluded to go to sea.

Two years of seafaring life proved unsufficient, and he returned to New Jersey, entering upon a Railroad career.
For several years he was connected with the N.J.S. Railroad.

The great oil strikes and boom in Pennsylvania drew him there but he soon returned to Railroading, which he has followed for the past 34 years.
His last steady work was done on the K. & A.R.R. where he held the position of Roadmaster for five years, making Van Buren, Arkansas his home where his family still reside.

William H. Marshall was married to Kate A. Hurley of Monmouth County, N.J. on February 15, 1862 at Wall, NJ by Jesse Stiles, Jr.

William departed this life on February 9, 1896 in Van Buren, Arkansas.
