Moses Hall was born in Shelby County, Kentucky, July 13, 1826. He departed this life on September 16, 1890 in Van Buren, Arkansas.

He lived on his fathers farm in Kentucky and received a common school education. He was a Presbyterian.

When he was 26 years old, his father gave him a plantation and in 1853 he married Mary E. Robison, daughter of William and Rebecca Cunningham Robison.
From this marriage eight children were born: Benjamin L., William R., Elizabeth R., Mary B., Virginia L., James T., George W. and Ella R.

He came to Arkansas and first located in Woodruff County and then came to Crawford County where he farmed 120 acres of land.
He was a sucessful man, his property being the result of his own labor but the property given him by his father was all lost during the war.
