Clyde Dewayne Brinkley, 71, of Fordyce died Thursday April 11, 2013. Born March 17, 1942 at Quitman, he was a son of the late Thomas Jerdie and Effie Lena Qualls Brinkley. He was a member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Dwight, Harold, and Earl Brinkley; three sisters, Lois Blithe, Wanda Tucker, and Theda Matthews; a grandson, Christopher Smith; father-in-law, James Berry. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Berry Brinkley of Fordyce; daughter, Susan Brinkley of Roswell, GA; two step-sons, Tony Shillings of White Hall, Jeff Shillings of Fordyce; step-daughter, Rita Winkle (Chris) of Sheridan; two brothers, Joe Brinkley (Ann) of Bristol, FL, Ed Brinkley of Rison; grandchild, Heaven Carson of Roswell, GA; mother-in-law Ellean Berry of Fordyce. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
