Deacon Ester Tubbs was born December 17, 1934 in Junction City, Louisiana to John and Carrie Tubbs. He departed this life on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in El Dorado, Arkansas.

At a very early age he gave his life to Christ. He subsequently united with First St. James Baptist Church where he served faithfully for many years as a Deacon until his health began to deteriorate.

Deacon Tubbs was a retired employee of Curtis Kinard Motors where he eventually retired. He married Dilcia Mae Thompson and to this union six children were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Carrie Tubbs; siblings; his wife, Dilcia Mae Thompson and three children, Joe Thompson, Helen Gulley, and Ester Tubbs, Jr.

His loving memories will be cherished by his children: Earnest Tubbs (Virginia), Louis Williams (Lonnie) Mary McElroy (Sammy); fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren. He also leaves two very close friends, Ruthie Galbrethe and Vickie, as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Public visitation Friday, January 18, 2019 from 1-5 pm at Sims Mortuary. Funeral service Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11:00 am at Shady Grove Baptist Church under the direction of Sims Mortuary. Sign the guestbook online at www.simsmortuary.com

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Tubbs, Albert Burns Jr., Stevie Tubbs, De Andra Burns, Bruce McHenry and Michael Thomas.
