November 16, 1941 - March 28, 2021
James L. (Jim) Bussell, Sr. of Chidester, AR was born November 16, 1941 in Camden, AR and peacefully passed away on Sunday March 28, 2021, in Wylie, TX at the age of 79.
Jim graduated from high school in Chidester, AR, then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas and then continued his education at Texas A&M where he received a Masters Degree in Computer Science. He was married to Rose (Marylyn) Daniel, of Bluff City, AR in 1962 until 1985.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Bussell and Dorothy Blagrave Bussell. He is survived by his children, James L. Bussell, Jr. and wife Miranda of Dallas, TX, Mark Bussell and wife Sandy of Dallas, TX, and Tim Bussell of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Randi Bussell, Dylan Bussell, Daniel Bussell and Faith Bussell, and great granddaughter Jade K. Carter.
Jim, worked for the Corps of Engineers for over 30 years before retiring and moving to Texas. During his time with the Corps, he lived in multiple different states and he traveled all over the world and was able to experience life in many different countries. He was also in the Boy Scouts of America where he received the highest achievement as an Eagle Scout.
James L. (Jim) Bussell, Sr. will be laid to rest alongside his parents in Chidester, AR on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1:00PM at Chidester Cemetery. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
