Glen A. Meyer, 76, of Springdale passed away Oct. 28, 2006, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Aug. 18, 1930, in Beaver County, Okla., to James Lester Meyer and Leah Rachael Fox Meyer. After graduation from Waukomis, Okla., he moved to Wichita, Kan. There he met and married LaVencia Conkle on Dec. 16, 1951.

After a tour of duty in the Korean Conflict, the family moved to a farm near Westville, Okla. He operated a dairy and later raised beef cattle and horses. He moved to Tontitown in 1973, downsizing his farming operation to five acres. He then took up dirt construction until early retirement with failing health. In 2004 he moved into Springdale. He was an active member of the W.W.C.O.G Church where he served as deacon for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Survivors include his wife, LaVencia "Lee" of the home; daughters, Mona Lynn Roache and husband Byron of Lowell, Glenna Rae Schmill Pickens and husband J.D. of Broken Arrow, Okla.; grandchildren, David Schmill of North Little Rock, James Schmill of Fort Hood, Texas, currently serving in Iraq with the Army, Leah Kristene Roache Wilkerson and husband Scott of Garland, Texas; brother, Bob Meyer and wife Hazel of Waukomis, Okla.; sister, Erma Christman and aunt Hope Moore, both of Wichita, Kan.

Cremation arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation Inc., Attn. Mary Ann Sprinkle, 1501 N.W. 9th Ave. Bob Hope Road, Miami, Fla., 33136-1494.

We will welcome family and friends from 2 until 6 p.m. on Nov. 4, 2006. at the family home.
