August 22, 1951 - October 12, 2018
Blenda Joyce Ryan in her 67th season of life answered the voice of God on Friday, October 12, 2018. Her life journey began on August 22, 1951 in Hot Springs when she was born to M. C. and Ruth Gardner Ryan. They preceded her in death as well as her siblings, Delores Conway, Gloria Carter and Earl Hill Jr; great nephews, Arinea “Pee Wee” Hudson, Rodney “Speedy” Brown and Derrick “Nookey” Duvall.
Blenda was a graduate of Hot Springs High Class of 1971. She was employed with the Department of Human Service. She was a former member of St. Thomas Baptist Church and was attending St. Mark Baptist Church.
Blenda had no children of her own but she loved her cats as if they were her children. She had a beautiful voice and you could hear her singing when you passed by Pleasant Street. She also made the corner of Pleasant & Gulpha look good with her beautiful flower gardens.
Blenda leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, Connie, Terry, Wilma and Orlando Conway, Shelia Duvall, Frank, Terry and Angela Colton, Debra Marlow, Cassandra, Ronnie and Alvin Walker and Earl Hill, Jr; a host great nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Eureka Baptist Church where Dr. Steve R. Lake is the pastor and Rev. Donald R. Crossley, Sr, pastor of St. Mark Baptist Church will deliver the eulogy. Open visitation will be from 12:00 – 5:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
