Thomas Lexie Staggs 73 of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Willis Knighton Bossier Health Center.
He was born on November 6, 1938 in Magnolia, Arkansas and raised in McNeil. He was a retired VPP Coordinator for the State of Arkansas where he traveled throughout Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Magnolia where he served as a deacon, and was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener and golfer.
He is preceded in death by his father Morgan Staggs and a brother Jerry Staggs.
He is survived by his wife Jackie Hinson Staggs of Magnolia; son Michael Gene Staggs and wife Karen of Chatham, Illinois; daughter Tommye Staggs Croft and husband Scot of Magnolia; his mother Denise Smart Staggs of Magnolia; brother Richard Staggs of Grapevine, Texas; and five grandchildren, Blain Croft and Madison Croft of Magnolia, Jacob Staggs, Josh Staggs, and Joe Staggs all of Chatham, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church with Bro. David Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Greer's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation with the family will Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 318 East Main, Magnolia, Arkansas or to Camp Sweeny Diabetes Camp, PO Box 918 Gainsville, Texas; 76241.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Ross, Jim Ball, Steve Card, Joe Fanning, Hilton Stewart, Brian Clark, Tom Hall, and Arthur Minor.
