Delbert Lynn

Mr. Delbert Lynn Birkhead of Beedeville, Arkansas departed this life on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at McCrory at the age of 87. He was born January 22, 1931, in Luxora, Arkansas, the son of Elton Leroy Birkhead and Vivan Myrick Reynolds.
Mr. Birkhead grew up with his family in Beedeville. He worked as an automobile refinisher for Bale Chevrolet in Little Rock for a number of years. Mr. Birkhead was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church in West Little Rock.
Everyone that knew Delbert Birkhead knew that he had a love for T-Birds and Thunderbirds. He would spit shine his cars till he could see his reflection.
He enjoyed telling stories to anyone that would take time to listen.
Delbert enjoyed going hunting at "the cabin" with family and friends. But you would have to be on your toes or you would be his next prank victim. Who was his ex lax victim? Or who fell for the "hot water" in the stream in the dead of winter?
Delbert was born with a fierce determination to succeed at any task set before him. That determination or stubbornness some may call it, helped make him strong, independent and successful as a son, a brother, Uncle, cousin, an employee or friend. He will be missed by us all.
He was preceeded in death by his parents; two brothers, Curtis Joe Reynolds and an infant brother; and two sisters, Peggy Bise and Lodean Wolfe.
Mr. Birkhead is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Whitehead of Fitzhugh and Faye Houston of Tupelo. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Eightmile Cemetery in Beedeville with Mr. Bart Gaskin officiating.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Joey Houston, Shawn Houston, Derrick Houston, Charles Dee Wolfe, C.J. Wolfe, Caeden Wolfe, Kevin Whitehead, Keith Whitehead, Fred Fraser, and Jason Fraser.
