Alvin Turbeville, was born June 14, 1930 in Whelen Springs, Arkansas. Jesus took him by the hand on December 12, 2017, leading him home after a lengthy illness. His wife and children were with him.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Imogene Rowland and Francis Downey, two brothers, Thomas Turbeville and Jerry Turbeville, and a great granddaughter, Jacey Rae Turbeville. He is survived by one sister Nancy Moody (John) and one brother, David Turbeville (Pam) both of Texas. He is also survived by his wife of 62 years, Peggy Brown Turbeville, two daughters, Alva Reibe (Jerry) of El Dorado, Janet Peden (Roy) of Chidester, AR, and one son, Larry Turbeville (Teresa), of Mont Belvieu, TX, six grandchildren, Brandon Duck, Bryan Reibe, Matt Reibe, Kelsay Morgan, Laura Smith, and Alex Turbeville, nine great grandchildren, Andrew Duck, Isabella Duck, Cooper Reibe, Emma Turbeville, Aven Reibe, Bryce Duck, Tate Reibe, Ben Smith, and Christian Duck,and a special sister, Pat Sumners along with numerous nieces and nephews. Alvin had a special love for many of his co-workers at Arkansas Power and Light, and former EHS Wildcat athletes, 1996-2003. He was a huge fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Dallas Cowboys, and the 12-year-old World Series Baseball players. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bob Watson, Dr. John Schrader, and their nurses and office employees for their great care and to LifeTouch Hospice. Memorials may be made to the El Dorado Boys and Girls Club, or to the John R. Williamson Hospice House both of El Dorado. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:-00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Young’s. A graveside service for family and friends will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Arlington Memorial Park with Rev. Bob Inmon officiating under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. An online guest registry will be available at www.youngsfuneralhome.com
