HOUSTON — Dixie Lea Bogard, 66, passed away on Aug. 26, 2010. She was born on Oct. 19, 1943, to James and Genevieve Bogard and grew up in Springdale and Odessa, Texas. Her passion during retirement was genealogy and her affiliation with the Samuel Sorrell Chapter, NSDAR in Houston, Texas.
Dixie is survived by her son, Matt Faulkenberry; daughter, Laura Faulkenberry; son-in-law, Robert Keevil; brother, Donald Bogard and his wife Mathilde; sister, Dianna Bogard and three nephews.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, in Houston, Texas. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale. In lieu of flowers donations to MD Anderson Cancer Center, Volunteer Services, P.O. Box 3386, Houston, TX 77210. www.mdanderson.org/gifts.
