Joe Neil Burchfield, Sr., 71 of Taylor, AR died Friday, April 19, 2013 at his home in Taylor.
He was born December 25, 1941 in Waldo, AR to the late Coy and Ola (Miller) Burchfield. Joe went to work in 1971 for Dow Chemical and retired from Albemarle in 1999. He attended First Baptist Church of Taylor and his avocation was of electronic and appliance repairman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Carl, Thomas Earl and Harvey Winston.
Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years Brenda (Hale) Burchfield of Taylor, AR; daughters Paige Burchfield Harwell (Douglas) of Taylor, AR, Michelle Burchfield Hand (David Hand, Sr.) of Katy, TX; son Joe Neil Burchfield, Jr. (Amy) of Taylor, AR; brother Raymond Burchfield (Bobbi) of Huntsville, TX; sisters Garnell Burchfield Tiegen (Bob) of Haynesville, LA, Laverne Burchfield Atkinson of Magnolia, AR, Shirley Burchfield Shaver of Tampa, FL, Linda Burchfield Wolf of Waldo, AR; sister-in-law Elvaretta Burchfield of Magnolia, AR; grandsons Joseph Owen, II of Springhill, LA, Joshua Owen of McNeil, AR, Jordy Burchfield of Conway, AR; granddaughters Alexis Revell of Bryant, AR, Raven Gonzalez of Taylor, AR; six great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 22nd at Lewis Chapel with Bro. Jerry Evans officiating and assisted by Bro. Jordy Burchfield. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Owen, Jordy Burchfield, Jack Revell, Gage Owen, Eric Tiegen, and David Burchfield.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Jason Franks, Dr. Mark Pippinger, and the Nurses at Serenity Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care they gave to Joe and our family.
