Oakland Cemetery
Jackson County,
Arkansas

July 13, 1947-Nov 18, 2019

Jerry Lee Burress, 72, of Bradford passed from this life Monday, November 18, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. He was born July 13, 1947 in Newport to the late Charles and Betty Carnel Burress. Jerry loved being outdoors. He liked to tinker with things and “thought” he was a mechanic. Jerry was a funny guy and loved to pick at people. He liked to “start stories”, as a prank, to see how far they would reach and how fast they would get there. He was a veteran of the United States Army and took up boxing during his enlistment. Jerry spent many years on the road as a truck driver and enjoyed seeing the country.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pollard Burress; a daughter, Toni Burress; stepson, Jeremy Thomason; step-great grandson, Collin Timberlake; brothers, Jim Burress and Ronnie Burress (Brenda); and a sister, Ann Davis (Billy Don Soden); and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Burress.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. The funeral service will be Thursday at 10:00 am in the Bradford Memorial Funeral Home chapel. Interment to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Bradford Memorial Funeral Home.
