When William Albert Mayfield was born on December 5, 1882, his father, George, was 30 and his mother, Emma, was 33. He married Sally Manning (1894–1978) on July 2, 1910, in Louisiana. They had one child during their marriage. He died on December 24, 1943, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at the age of 61.
