Jerald Teter, 80, a resident of Dover, died Friday, June 16, 2006, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born August 22, 1925, at Orlando, West Virginia to Clarence and Arlie Teter.

He was the maintenance supervisor and a bus driver for the Dover School District for over 12 years and was an airplane mechanic in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Moreland United Methodist Church and worked in local churches for numerous years. He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl and Hugh Teter; and a sister, Ruth Teter.

Survivors include his wife, Wilda "Jean" Teter of Dover; a son, Jerry Swein of Lone Oak, Florida; three daughters, Cheryle Rigsby of Tampa, Florida, Esther Smith of Green Forest, and Shirley Lee of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; three step-sons, James Johnston and Perry Johnston both of Russellville and Dan Johnston of New Blaine; a step-daughter, Glenda McMillian of Dover; two sisters, Josephine Detterman and Pauline Burkhammer both of Westin, West Virginia; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2006, at Rest Haven Memorial Park with the Rev. Eldon Thomas and the Rev. James Shinn officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers will be Perry Johnston, Dan Johnston, James Johnston, Lee McMillian, Charlie McMillian, and Courtney McMillian. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Todd Carter and Dr. Dale Barton.
