Glenn Allen Cate, "Goose" 72, resident of Springdale, died March 22, 2007, at Northwest Medical Center. Glenn was born Feb. 9, 1935, in Springdale, the son of Lawrence and Marie Smith Cate.

Glenn was a loving husband, a caring father and
an inspiration to his grandchildren. He was a truck driver by trade and was retired from Jones Truck Lines. Glenn loved to work outside on his lawnmower, in his garden or taking care of his rent houses. Even though he was busy, he always found time to tell a story, give advice or share a great laugh. Glenn was a member of the Robinson Avenue Church of Christ where he could be found every Sunday and at a buffet shortly thereafter. He loved to sit around the table at the coffee shop and tell stories with his truck-driving buddies. He will be missed, but we're all glad he's gone home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen, to whom he was married 52 years; his brother, Charles Cate and wife Mary Sue of Springdale; two sons, Rickey Gate and wife Nita and Mark Cate, all of Waxachaehie, Texas; two daughters, Rhonda Jackson of Fayetteville and Tina Enix of Lowell; five beloved grandchildren, Derek and Damon Jackson, Richard and Ryan Cate and Madisyn Enix.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 26 at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Gary Frazier and Harry Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today, March 25, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tim Howard, Herman Sisemore, Joe Trolinger, Ron Susnik, Harry Ware, Jim Rogers and Bill Woodward.

Honorary pallbearers will be Buck Wright and Bill Goucher.

Memorials may be made to Robinson Avenue Church of Christ, 1506 W. Robinson Ave., Springdale, 72764.
