June 12, 1918 - Mar 9, 1979
Clarence Clayton, 54, died suddenly and unexpectedly from a heart attack at his home near Colt, Friday afternoon around 5 p.m. He had been suffering with a heart condition for the past several years.
He was born west of Colt June 12, 1918, and was the son of Susie Williams Clayton and the late Dee Clayton.
Mr. Clayton was a farmer, a Baptist and a life long resident of the Caldwell and Colt communities.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Bernice Warner Clayton, whom he married in 1942; one son, Warner Clayton of Colt; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Lewis of Milledgeville, Ga. and Mrs. Gary House of Forrest City; three grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Susie Clayton of Colt; three brothers, Edison of Oakdale, La., Vernon of Faribough, Calif., and Wesley of Russellville; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Fulmer, Mrs. Elsie Willis, both of Norwalk, Calif., Mrs. Lola Mae Campbell of Bernie, Mo., and Mrs. Evelyn Parr of Three Rivers, Mich.
Funeral services by Rev Floyd Cowan Jr., and Rev James Wilcox were held today at 2 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home and burial followed in Forrest Park Cemetery.
