Leroy Froman, 72, of Searcy was born December 4, 1935 in Hunter, Ar., the son of Walter Stanley and Ruth Spencer Froman. He passed away Saturday December 15, 2007. His survivors include his wife, Nancy Williams Froman, daughters: Dr. Elizabeth Froman Hudson and her husband Henry of Springdale and Robin Froman Green of Rogers. He is also survived by grandsons: Garrett and Peyton Green and Will Hudson, one sister, Jean Gipson of Searcy. He was a graduate off Arkansas State Teachers Collage (now University of Central Arkansas) and received his Juris Doctorate degree from University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He practiced law in Searcy and later served as Municipal Judge in Searcy until his retirement in 2000.He was a member of the Arkansas Bar Association where he had served on the Executive Council and in the House of Delegates. He was past President of the White County Bar Association and past President of the Arkansas Municipal Judges Council. Mr. Froman was a former deputy prosecuting attorney. He also served as Special Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court. Mr. Froman was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was an Arkansas State Trooper before attending law school. Mr. Froman was a member of the Searcy Masonic Lodge, which recently reconized him as a Mason for 50 years. He was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a Knight Templar York Rite Mason, a member of the Royal Order of Scotland and a Shriner. The International Order of Demolay awarded him their hightest honor, the Legion of Honor. He was a Trustee and former Chairman of the Searcy Library Board of Trustees. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was past President of the United Methodist Men and past member of the Administrative Board.
