Ellis Pinckard, 84, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, December 29, 2018. Born Edward Ellis Pinckard July 6, 1934, in New Edinburg, Arkansas, he was the son of L.H. and Nolie Erwin Pinckard. Ellis was reared and received his early education in Fordyce, graduating from Fordyce High School.
He served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany during the late 1950s. Ellis worked for the Cotton Belt Railroad for 42 years. He was an active member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church and the Jacob Brump Masonic Lodge #150 F&AM. Ellis proudly served as the Worshipful Master of the Jacob Brump lodge in 1973.
Mr. Pinckard was preceded in death by his parents; son, Edward Pinckard, Jr.; and two brothers, Ramon and Paul Pinckard. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Betty Taylor Pinckard, whom he married July 26, 1955, in Fordyce; son, Scott Pinckard (wife, Debbie) of England, Arkansas; two daughters, Dannette Rook and Tracie Rittenhouse (husband, Gary), both of Pine Bluff; brother, Max Pinckard of Kingsland; sister, Loraine Tidwell of Fordyce; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverend Howard Loetscher officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Fordyce. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Robinson’s.

Memorials may be made to the Salem Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 7226 Sulphur Springs Road, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, 71603.
