Loyd Earl Montgomery, 87, of Lockesburg, Ark., died Friday, July 27, 2018. Mr. Montgomery was born May 3, 1931, in Provo, Ark. He was retired from Weyerhauser, a cattle rancher, formerly employed with Valentine Pulp and Paper, Lockport, La., Georgia Pacific, Crossett, Ark., Humco Chemicals, Memphis, Tenn., Welch Grape Juice, Springdale, Ark., and Dierks Forest Plant, Broken Bow, Okla., a member of Belleville Masonic Lodge No. 35 and First United Methodist Church and a Korean War Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Ray, in 2013; and one son, Roy Earl Montgomery. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Diane Montgomery and Stanley Fisk of Waxahachie, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Larenda Montgomery of Lockesburg and Ben and Leslie Montgomery of Bryant, Ark.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be noon Monday at Oddfellows Cemetery, Lockesburg, with Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will be under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Oddfellows Cemetery, 108 Provo Road, Lockesburg, AR 71846.
