When William Jackson "Jack" Gross was born on June 6, 1867, in Texas, Missouri, his father, George, was 24 and his mother, Winna, was 19. He married Rosie E. Romines on January 24, 1897, in Raymondville, Missouri. They had ten children in 22 years. He died on August 31, 1922, at the age of 55.
