Bro. Kevin Edwards, 52, of Magnolia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center.
Kevin was born on July 21, 1965 in Magnolia to Billy and the late Jeanette (Franks) Edwards. He was formerly employed with Alcoa. Kevin was called to the ministry in 2010. He served as a youth minister for several years and served as senior pastor for Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church from February 2013 until his death.
Kevin was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. Even in his illness he had a positive attitude daily and encouraged everyone he came in contact with. During chemo he ministered to everyone in the room with him.


Kevin was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He liked to have fun more than anyone, and enjoyed teaching his daughter, nieces, and nephews how to drive ATVs through the mud. If it couldn't be fixed with duct tape, then it just couldn't be fixed.
The last audible words Kevin spoke were, "Remember, God is good." He would want everyone to give God the glory.
He was preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Florence Franks; paternal grandparents, Alton and Claudia Edwards; father-in-law Jeffrey Geer; and stepfather-in-law, Gary Kimmet.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Lisa Edwards of Magnolia; daughter, Hannah Sullivan (Edwards) of Magnolia; father, Billy "B.J." Edwards of Magnolia; sisters, Cathey (Charles) Covington of Magnolia, Tanya (Bill) Lewis of Little Rock; brother, Steve (Sheryl) Edwards of Magnolia; mother-in-law, Jeanne Burnett Kimmet of Magnolia; nephews and nieces, Dayla Langley of Rapid City, SD, Taryn Covington of Sherwood, Lauren Johnston, Ben and Bert Lewis of Little Rock, Seth and Sydney Edwards of Magnolia, Ashlynn, Sierra, and Ashton Geer, William Heap, and Behren and Callie Morris all of Hot Springs.
Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 26 at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., in Magnolia. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 27 at First Baptist Church of Magnolia with Bro. Randy Click, Bro. Leroy Martin, and Bro. Andy Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.


Pallbearers will be the Columbia County Baptist Missionary Association ministers. Honorary pallbearers will be Seth Edwards, Ben Lewis, Bert Lewis, and Tyler Dennis.
The family requests memorial donations are sent to Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church, 1320 Columbia Road 19, Magnolia, AR 71753.
