When Claud Melton Dycus was born on February 27, 1911, in Faulkner Township, Arkansas, his father, Robert, was 40 and his mother, Rachel, was 37. He married Carol Bell Harmon on August 23, 1932, in his hometown. They had seven children during their marriage. He died on February 25, 1980, in Faulkner Township, Arkansas, at the age of 68, and was buried there.
