Westville man killed when truck hits train

A 27-year-old man was killed Friday morning when his truck collided with a train in Westville, Okla., according to police.

The accident happened around 8:14 a.m. on E. 700 Road, known as Cemetery Road.

Patrick Tyler Eason of Westville was traveling west on his way to work when he collided with a Kansas City Southern train while crossing the tracks, according to police.

His pickup was pushed south on the tracks for several yards before coming to a stop on its side. Eason was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

Eason worked at Superior Chevrolet in Siloam Springs. His four-months pregnant wife, Alleigh, is also an employee there.

There were no witnesses to the accident, said Crystylle Simmons, Westville police dispatcher.

A Go Fund Me page has been established with a goal of raising $10,000 to help with funeral and other expenses. Nearly $1,000 was raised within 30 minutes of the campaign launching.
