SONORA — Don "Kenneth" Harp, 77, of Sonora, Ark. passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, at the Shiloh Nursing and Rehab in Springdale. Kenneth was born on Jan. 9, 1937, in Blue Springs, Ark., a son of Don F. Harp and Myrl P. Robb Harp.

He married Ama Sue Windham on July 3, 1954, in Springdale. He served in the US. Army from 1959 to 1962 in the Armored Vehicle Division in Fort Hood, Texas, and Fort Ord, Calif.

Kenneth work for the Standard Register Co. in Fayetteville as a pressman/printer for 33 years before his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the yard and was an avid gardener. Kenneth was also a member of the 13th Street Church of Christ in Rogers.

He is survived by his wife, Ama Harp of Sonora; one son, Clinton and wife, Cindy Harp, of Knob Hill; one sister, Virginia Combs of Lake Providence, La.; a brother-in-law, Emmett Windham of Springdale; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Keith Harp; and two sisters, Mary Parsons and Nita Jean Ott.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Don Pruitt will officiate the service, with burial being held at the Sonora Cemetery, under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale.
