Son of Jacob L. "Jake" Byrd and Martha Ann Tapp.
Husband of Bertha L Acton (1894–1985).
When William Virgil "Virgie" Byrd was born on April 11, 1897, in Arkansas, his father, Jacob, was 28 and his mother, Martha, was 22. He married Bertha L Acton on May 18, 1913, in Faulkner, Arkansas. They had two children during their marriage. He died as a teenager on July 18, 1915, in Faulkner, Arkansas, and was buried in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
