Michael Salater was born February 26, 1941, in Colt, Arkansas, and departed this life Monday, April 9, 2018, in Saint Louis, Missouri. At the age of 77, he crossed over the river and is peacefully resting under the shade of the trees.

He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Pauline (Teas) Salater, and father, Peter Salater.

Husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend to many, Michael had one mission in his last days: to make those around him laugh. He proudly served his country as a Navy Corpsmen. He was a successful business owner, an avid golfer, a Confederate history buff, and a music lover.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Ann; his daughter, Michelle, and her husband, Joe; son Adam and wife Brianna; sister Dorothy; brother Ike and his wife, Wendy; two grandchildren, Maizey and Finnley; stepson Charlie and his wife, Michelle; stepson Steven and his wife, Amy; six step-grandchildren, Daulton, Megan, Ashlyn, Logan, Regan, and Jaden; and his beloved dog, Ginger.

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 16, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Shady Grove, Arkansas, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or JDRF.
