John Paul Roper, 66, of Russellville departed this life on Saturday, May 31, 2008. He was born May 8, 1942, in Paris, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilson B Roper; brother, Charles Roper; and sister Martha Bibler. He was a tool and dye assembler for Ladish Company.
He served in the US Navy. He is survived by his wife Linda H Roper of Russellville; mother, Nelle Birkhead Roper of Russellville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kellie and Kevin Van Es of Russellville and Karen and Jason Cook of Lonoke; sister, Mary Helen Roper of Fayetteville; and grandchildren, Jessie Van Es, A J Van Es, Lauren Papasan, Kennedy Cook, and Mitchell Cook.
Pallbearers were James David Peak, Jerry Markham, Dave Peak, Jim Peak, Kevin Van Es, Jason Cook, Barry Birkhead and Ronnie Blalack.
