January 15, 1901 - December 22, 1968
Joe Bivens, 67, of 1108 B Avenue, El Dorado, died Sunday morning in Little Rock after a brief illness. Born January 15, 1901, he was a resident of Union County and a retired operator for Arkansas Power and Light Company. Mr. Bivens was the son of E. J. and Mattie Brock Bivens and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eula Mae Barnette Bivens of El Dorado; one brother, Jack Bivens of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Truel of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Ruby Price of El Dorado; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Southside Baptist Church with the Revs. Dale Shirey and Clarence Crow officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Nephews will serve as pallbearers and the body will be brought to the church one hour before funeral services.
