Dyer City Cemetery
Crawford County,
Arkansas

December 4, 1952 - March 14, 2017

Richard 'Rick' Leon Risenhoover, born Dec. 4, 1952, 64, passed on to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 14 2017, in his home.

He was survived by the love of his life, of 37 years, his wife, Kelly Risenhoover of Dyer; his two amazing daughters, Rachel Lynn Lyons of Alma and Sarah Jo Risenhoover of Alma; his son-in-law Christopher Michael Lyons of Alma; his son, Randall Leon Risenhoover of Van Buren. He is also survived by the reason he pushed so hard, all of his grandbabies, four grandsons, Joseph Ray Risenhoover/Lynn of Alma, Conner Allen Lyons of Alma, Caleb Michael Leon Lyons of Alma, Tyler Risenhoover of Little Kansas, Okla.,; and two beautiful granddaughters, Alexa Risenhoover of Little Kansas and McKayla Risenhoover of Sallisaw; three brothers, Steven Eric Risenhoover of Dyer, David Pope of Sallisaw and Gary Don Risenhoover of Clyde, Texas; and one sister, Luan Taylor of Ada.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Risenhoover of Sallisaw; and his parents, his father, Leon Risenhoover of Stigler; and his mother, Shannon Joann Risenhoover, also of Stigler.
He loved doing everything under the sun and he also loved helping others. So naturally his career path took him from one extreme to another and changed multiple times due to finding other 'callings'. He started working when he was 12 years old on his farm and all the other farms around him he could walk to. He continued to do odd jobs for people in the town he grew up in, Stigler, on top of keeping on top of his studies and ending up being their 'football star.' At the age of 18, he had to grow up. He started by being a missionary, then went on to work on/in boats off of the Northern Coast. He then came home, did a few odd jobs and started a family, then started work at Rheem, where a back injury forced him to leave. After healing, he went to work for the city of Dyer as their policy marshal. After leaving there, he went to Arkoma Police Department. Shortly after, his mother passed. After a year of grieving he opened 'Rick's Place,' a bar in Ozark. He kept it running to assure himself that his friends were safe and responsible. He kept it opened until his health started to go, that was 1998. Since then, he has tinkered here and there on vehicles, but for the most part, health would not allow him. The world lost an amazing man when he left. He will be missed.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Dyer Cemetery in Dyer under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Alma.
Pallbearers will be Steve Risenhoover, David Hope, Chris Lyons, Ronnie Milsap, Terry Rea and Dean Leakey.
