December 31, 1884 - May 15, 1965
Austin Henry Stolz, 80, of the Rufus Garrett Hotel, died 4:30 Saturday in an El Dorado hospital. Born in Milford, Neb., Dec. 31, 1884, he was the son of Phillip and Matilda Stapler Stolz and an independent oil operator in El Dorado since 1917. Survivors include two sons, Gerald Stolz of El Dorado, and Milton H. Stolz of White City, Ore.; one daughter, Mrs. Nicholas D. Harrell of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Gerald A. Stolz, Jr., of El Dorado, Allen D. Harrel of Little Rock, and Susan E. Harrel of Little Rock; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m., at the Rumph chapel with the Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Burial followed at Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Rumph's Mortuary. Pallbearers were Fergus o. Mahoney, Newt Hammond, Hasting Jones, Roland Kendall, Charles H. Murphy, Jr., and Scotty Giles. Honorary pallbearers were J. K. Mahoney, Dr. Joe B. Wharton, Judge Henry S. Yocum, Sam Babb and Harry B. Reeves. (The El Dorado Times - May 17, 1965)
