James David Chambliss, 67, of Bearden died Sunday, October 13, 2013. He was born July 9, 1946 in Bearden, Arkansas. He was a truck driver and an army Vietnam veteran. He is preceded in death by his parents, Drill J. Chambliss; wife, Carolyn Chambliss; three sisters, Wilma Leon, Bettye Ratcliff and Joyce Gann. He is survived by four sons, Wayne Taylor of Bearden, Don Taylor and wife Karen of Tampa Bay, FL, David Chambliss of Bearden and Dr. James W. Chambliss and wife Jaime of Magnolia; one brother, William Chambliss of Bearden; four sisters, Pauline Purifoy of Houston, TX, George Stewart of New Caney, TX, Patsy Bass and Linda Glass both of Pine Bluff; special niece, Leslie Sallee of Bearden; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Bearden. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Salem Cemetery near Bearden with Jackie Bevill officiating. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Disabled Veterans of America or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce/Bearden.
