Billy N. Ballard,77,of Dermott,died Sunday at Pine Bluff.He was born April,21,1929,in Cleveland County,a son of the late Collie Ballard and Anna Mae Ballard.He served in the Marine Corps and the Army.He was a member of the Master Gardener Program.He was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Dermott.He was also preceded in death by a son,Glen Ballard,a brother,Carl Roger Ballard and two sisters,Syble Mitchell and Sue Kughler.Survivors include his wife,Edna Laws Ballard;five sons,Wade Stringfellow of Monticello,Bruce Stringfellow and Mitchell Stringfellow,both of Hampton,Ted Stringfellow of Dermott,Phillip Stringfellow of Tarpon Springs,Fla.,;one daughter,Mitzi Cantwell of White Hall;one brother,Mickey Ballard of Washington;two sisters,Frances Fernandez of Chattanooga,Tenn.,and Barbara Hearne of Fordyce;14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Funeral Services wil be at 2p.m. Thursday at Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.Burial will be in Pickett Cemetery near Hampton.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
