When James Simon Moye was born on April 20, 1927, in Searcy, Arkansas, his father, Thomas, was 39 and his mother, Rose, was 36. He married on June 24, 1949. He had two children during his marriage. He died on January 23, 1996, in his hometown at the age of 68, and was buried there.
