FAYETTEVILLE — Henry H. Holder, 86, of Fayetteville died Thursday, July 7, 2011, in Fayetteville. He was originally from Newark, N.J., and was born on April 4, 1925. He was the only son of Horatio B. Holder and Nettie Lloyd Holder and the younger brother of Virginia Ernestine Holder (all deceased). He was a Licensed General Practitioner in San Bernadino, Calif., for over 20 years prior to relocating and practicing at Martin Luther King Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., from 1977 to 1985. His educational background included a BS from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC; a B.Div. from Morehouse Theological Seminary School in Atlanta, Ga., and a Doctorate from Columbia University in New York, N.Y. He was a firm believer in higher education and strived to do his best in all endeavors that he took on.

Survivors include daughters, Kathy L. Holder, 54; Tamara L. Holder, 52; Melanie S. Holder, 50, (deceased) and Lori D. Holder of San Bernadino, Calif., from his first marriage to Belva Bynum Holder (union 30 years) and two children, daughter Gigi R. Holder, 26 and son Henry L. Holder, from his second marriage to Sharon Deffebaugh Holder (union 12 years) of Fayetteville, Ark.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011, at Fairview Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Charles White of St. James United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Beards Chapel.
