Earl Lee Hagar the husband of Geraldine (Travis) Hager. Earl Lee Hager the son of Frank Hager and Fannie (Saffell) Hager.
Earl Lee Hager, 73, of Hoxie, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital of health complications, he was surrounded by loved ones.
He was born August 21, 1942 in Walnut Ridge, son of Frank and Fannie Saffell Hager. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hoxie, and attended the Hoxie Schools.
Earl enjoyed fishing, camping, canoeing, family and friends, he was well known in Lawrence county. Earl was known for being a “friend in need”. If you had car trouble, needing a ride, someone to help on a project you could count on Earl to help any way he could. As a testimony to his kindness to family and strangers alike please see memorial display article from the Times Dispatch, July 2009, titled, Hiker travels through county: The article explains how a gentleman, hiking across the U. S. ended up sleeping under the stars in a tent in Earls backyard. The two met earlier in the day; after the hiker explained his conservative cause to help raise funds for, The Sierra club, as well as his rules explaining how he completely relies on the kindness of strangers along his journey.
Survivors include children, Russell Leahan of Little Rock, Tiffany Schoenfeld of Hoxie and A. J. Holder of Hoxie; two step sons, Shawn Travis of Hoxie and Kevin Travis of Cave City; grandchildren, Lisa and Dakota; Siblings, twin sister, Ann Meeks (Morgan Gilbert) of Hoxie and Robert Hager Sr (Tonia) of Plano, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Robert Hager Jr (Christy), Sheri Hager, Ginger (Tracy) Isom, Ronnie (Christy) Rawls, Westley (Dianne) Rawls and eleven great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Hager, his parents, Frank and Fannie Hager, a sister, Betty Rawls, a nephew, Frankie Meeks, cousins, J. C. Hager, Jim Hager, Freddie Mac Hager.
Memorial service will be Monday, May 30, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Hoxie with Bro. William Vasser and Bro. Robert Hager Jr officiating. A private graveside service will be later.

Holder of Hoxie; two stepsons, Shawn Travis of Hoxie and Kevin Travis of Cave City; grandchildren, Lisa and Dakota; twin sister, Ann Meeks (Morgan Gilbert) of Hoxie; and brother Robert Hager Sr. (Tonia) of Plano, Ill.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Hoxie with William Vasser and Robert Hager Jr. officiating.
A private graveside service will follow.
