Of Calico Rock, Arkansas
Joshua Leon Corter, son of Hershel Lynn Corter and Lillian Kay Loosey Corter, was born July 8, 1983 in Calico Rock, Arkansas. He departed this life May 27, 2017 in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 33 years, 10 months and 19 days. He was a lifelong resident of Izard County. He attended Calico Rock High School. At the time of his death, he was employed as a logger. He was united in marriage to Rachel DeWeese April 1, 2015 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was a proud member of the Calico Rock Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife: Rachel Corter of the home; three children: Lance Corter of Calico Rock, Ryleigh Corter of Greenbrier and Bella Carson of Calico Rock; his parents: Hershel and Katie Corter of Calico Rock; one brother: Heath Corter and wife Kayla of Calico Rock; one sister: Kesha Corter and fiancé Slade Williams of Calico Rock; nieces and nephews: Kiana Corter, Mattix Corter, Kinley Robertson, Braylon Williams, Liam Williams; numerous aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Noel Junior and Judy Iona Loosey; paternal grandparents: Hershel Dean Leon Corter and Sallie Sue Canard Corter.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Jordan Green, Adam Green, Josh Sanders, Jury Sanders, Zack Killian, Justin Corter.
