James Fletcher, Jr, 38, of Louann, died in the Veteran's Hospital in Alexandria, La., at 5:25 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held at the Loann Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Arnold Simpson of Fairview, and the Rev. Judson Albritton officiated. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery near Louann under the direction of Proctor's Funeral Home of Camden. Mr. Fletcher was born in Louann on April, 1927, the son of the late Melton James Fletcher, Sr. and Mattie Funk Fletcher Collier. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a veteran of several years service in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by one son, Michael David Fletcher of Louann, his mother, Mrs. Mattie Collier, three brothers, Wesley Fletcher of San Benito, Calif., R. C. Fletcher of Orange, Tex., Bill Fletcher of Vidalia, La.; and three sisters, Mrs. Charles McKinney of Baton Rouge, La., Mrs. Charlie Martin of Tyler, Tex. and Mrs. Louis Renfro of Burkburnett, Tex.
