TECHNICAL SERGEANT US Air Force
September 29, 1927 - April 11, 2010
Joseph Foster Cole was born September 29, 1927 in Center Hill, Ark. He was a resident of Ruston for forty years and passed away peacefully in his sleep April 11, 2010 in Ruston, La. Pop served in the Air Force for thirty years during the World War II, Korean and Vietnam War era before he retired. He also worked for Willamette Industries for seventeen years before retiring from there as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Carlie Harrison Cole, his brothers Arville Cole and Kenneth "Pete" Cole and the love of his life and mother of his children Jane Marshall.
He is survived by his sister Avis Duncan, his children Shari Wagner and husband Pete, Sylvia Cole , John Cole and wife Jennie, Cindy Perritt and husband Daniel, Joseph Cole, Christopher Cole and wife Tiffany, Jesse Cole and wife Heather, Leilani Guree and husband Joe, Timothy Cole and wife Hattie, Justin Cole and wife Angela and Jason Cole and wife Erin. Pop had forty-eight grandchildren and twenty six great-grandchildren with two more on the way. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
Visitation for Pop will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 at Owens Funeral Home in Ruston. Services will also be held at Owens Wednesday at 2:30. There will be a graveside service at 2:00 Thursday at Center Hill Cemetery in Center Hill Arkansas. Pop will be carried by his grandsons Brandon Guree, Garrett Cole, Joshua Cole, Jordan Cole, Dustin Richardson and Jacob Richardson. Serving as honorary pall bearers are his grandsons Kerry McCormick and Marcus McCormick
