Dewey the son of Elzie Dennis Long and Vircie (Martz) Long.
Dewey Wade Long, 73, of Pottsville, departed this life Friday, June 7, 2013.
He was born May 2, 1940, in Derring, Mo., to Elzie Dennis Long and Vircie Martz. He was a loving father, enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and loved his dogs.
He is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Eula Long; four sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by five children, Danny and Linda Long, Tammy and Mark Wachtendorf, Jamie and James Crowell, Jeffery and Ramona Long and Leslie Debusk; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters; several nieces and nephews; his significant other, Lavenia Hall and her family; and his dear friend, Frank Ferguson.
His memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Broussard Funeral Home of Russellville, 3323 East 6th Street, Russellville. The Rev. Jim Huffman will officiate.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard Funeral Homes of Russellville.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home, 220 John Babish Lane, Russellville, AR 72801.
