Obituary:
Carlis Dewayne Kindy, 54 from Van Buren was taken home by the Lord on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in Fort Smith. His first passion was the Lord. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church, where he faithfully served wherever and whenever he was needed. He was a dedicated family man to his wife and children. He spent his early career at Hale Truck & Equipment, and spent the last twenty-two years as part of the Rivertowne Express family. He had an outstanding reputation in the trucking community as the man that could fix any truck and not put you in the poor house doing it. Fishing with his father was very important to him and they went as often as possible, and when hunting season came around, if you did not know where he hunted, you would be hard pressed to find him.
Funeral services will be 1 PM, Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Concord Baptist Church in Van Buren with burial at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Pam Kindy of the home; one daughter Kristin Kindy of Van Buren; one son Robert Day of Fort Smith; his mother Edra Kindy of Siloam Springs, his father Gene Kindy and his wife Georgie Ann of Stilwell, OK; his second mother that held his heart and is also known as Aunt Avis January of Siloam Springs; four brothers Merle, Gary, Lee and Dennis Kindy; two sisters Gayle and Robyn; many in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews. He was loved in life and will be missed by many.
Family will visit with relatives and friends Friday, November 6, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Wiley, Ted Burkhart, Nathan Mills, Shane Whitlock, Richie Sanders, and David Whitlock.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacob Sanders, Anthony Vaughan, Ronald “Pony” Horst, Wilfred Arnold, and Paul Kizer.
