Austin W. Glenn, 83, of Conway, passed away Monday, April 12, 2004, at Conway Regional Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Lynn, Ark., to the late John and Ettie (Clinton) Glenn. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Warren Glenn of Lynn.
After serving in the Air Force during World War II, he attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, George Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn., and earned a doctorate in education at the University of Arkansas. He was a public school teacher, principal, and a superintendent. He was a professor of education at the University of Central Arkansas for 30 years. After retiring he became a licensed professional counselor in private practice in Conway and Little Rock.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Holcomb) Glenn; two sons, Jon Glenn and wife, Elizabeth, Randall Glenn and wife, Sherry; two daughters, Elizabeth Glenn, Sandra Glenn and husband, Ed, all of Conway; four grandchildren, Cameron Glenn and Rachel Glenn, both of Conway, Les Eaves and wife, Denice, of Searcy, Laura Taylor and husband, Scott, of Fayetteville; five great-grandchildren, Heather Eaves, Alyson Eaves, Taylor Eaves, Sydney Taylor and Savannah Taylor; one brother, Vernon Glenn and wife, Marietta, of Hot Springs; and two sisters, Louise Pace and husband, Rue, of Lynn, and Virginia Smith and husband, Ken, of Metaire, La.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Conway.
Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway.
Pallbearers are Les Eaves, David Bonds, Tim Sturgeon, Tom Norrell, Dr. David Skotko and Dr. Jay McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Bonds, Skeeter Kell, and the Forum Sunday school class.
Memorials may be made to the UCA Foundation/College of Education Fund, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway, Ark. 72035.
