and died in Hollywood, Los Angeles County, California
Ryan Heath Rorie, Age 38, of Los Angeles, California passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital in Los Angeles.
Ryan was born August 28, 1976 in Bull Shoals, Arkansas. He was a 1994 graduate of Flippin High School, a 1998 graduate of Hendrix College, and a 2003 graduate of Sanford Meisner School of Acting. He was a member of First Christian Church in Flippin, Arkansas.
Ryan was a gifted actor, musician, vocalist, and photographer. He had a larger than life personality, and was an amazing stage performer. Ryan was never happier than when he was entertaining in the clubs of LA. He had an infectious laugh that could brighten anyone’s mood and was loved by many.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Shelley and JC. Ledbetter of Gainesville, Missouri;
his father, Hugh Dwight “Dody” Rorie of Flippin, Arkansas;
his sister and brother-in-law, Misty and Jason Koehn of McKinney, Texas;
two nephews: Drew and Reid Koehn;
and a niece, Lily Koehn, all of McKinney, Texas;
his maternal grandmother, Lou Ann Ott;
and his paternal grandmother, Bertha Rorie, both of Flippin, Arkansas;
aunts and uncles: Judith Lawrence; Bruce and Delilah Ott; David and Robin Rorie; Curtis and Janet Rorie; and Bruce Rorie, all of Flippin, Arkansas;
several cousins;
and a legion of friends and fans from the Los Angeles area.
Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Sherman Ott; his paternal grandfather, Henry Rorie; first cousins: David and Ronny Riddell, and Lakin Rorie.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 28, 2014 at 11:00 am at Burns Funeral Home Chapel in Yellville, Arkansas with Bro. Steve Martin officiating.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time at 10:00 am.
Interment will be in Ott Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chase Lawrence, Grant Lawrence, Jason Koehn, Drew Koehn, Mycal Rorie, and Kavan Rorie.
