Obituary

Leon Hegi, 75 of Conway, passed away on Wed., June 30, 2010. Born in Conway he was a son the late John and Della (Nicholson) Hegi. Leon had worked for Hiegel Wholesale, Sellers Meat Packaging, Satterfield Meat Packaging, Simon's Grocery, Round Mountain Meat Packaging and Price Cutter. He served twelve years in the Arkansas National Guard, ten years in the Army Reserve; he graduated from Conway High School and was a member of Holland Baptist Church and a past member of the Beaverfork Volunteer Fire department. A sister Ruth Mae Klein also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years Jeannette (Wheeler) Hegi; his daughter Teresa (Hegi) Freeman and husband Earnie, of Conway; granddaughter Brittany Nicole Freeman; sister Della Marie Harrington of Greenbrier; nephews Ricky and Gary Harrington of Greenbrier and Leroy Harrington and wife Joyce (Rimmer) of Guy and numerous church family and friends.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sun. July 4, at Holland Baptist Church with Bro. Ron Theis officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery with David Smith, Eric Glover, Earnest F. Freeman, Bobby Haynes, Robert West and C.H. Turner serving as pallbearers. Ronnie McGaha and Kenneth Ogle will serve as Honorary pallbearers.
