Michael Lynn Alexander, 60, born April 19, 1952, in Newport, Arkansas, to Troy Odis Alexander and Dovie Alene Gist, was raised in Swifton and lived most of his life in Jonesboro. He died Tuesday, October 9, at his home. Michael was a proud Cherokee Village Police Officer and a member of the Masonic Order.
He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone in Jonesboro prior to becoming a police officer.
Survivors include daughters Jackie Brickey of Jonesboro and Kasey (Adam) Carter of Cherokee Village; granddaughters Kylie and Courtney Brickey of Jonesboro and Addaline Carter of Cherokee Village; sisters Claudette (Steve) Hackworth of Pocahontas and Linda Alene Clayton of North Little Rock; brothers David Preston Brown of Swifton, Joe and David Alexander of Cash and nieces and nephews. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Funeral will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 12th with Chris Clem officiating. Burial will be in the Swifton Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Steve Barkley, Randy Jumper, Ronnie Russell, Monte Lane, Wendell Lane, Bryan Buchanan, Chris Spurlock, and Shane Hightower. Honorary pallbearers include Keith Neely and Michael Barkley.
