Kendra Ruth Guengerich, 24, of Minonk, IL, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in rural Hudson, IL. She was the granddaughter of Ted and Norma New of Shirley, Arkansas residents.
She was born March 17, 1989 in Pekin, IL to Richard Harland and Karla Gay (New) Guengerich.
Surviving are her mother, Karla New of Minonk, IL; father and step-mother, Rich and Melinda Guengerich of Pekin, IL; one brother, Clayton Guengerich of Minonk, IL; one sister, Shelly Saal of Minonk, IL; grandparents, Ted and Norma New of Shirley, Arkansas and Marsha Guengerich of Pekin, IL; one nephew, Nathan Dober of Pekin, IL; one step-brother, Aaron Black of Peoria, IL; step-grandfather, Dale Rowden of Pekin, IL; and her boyfriend, Brandon West of Minonk, IL.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard Guengerich.
A 2007 graduate of Fieldcrest High School in Minonk, IL, Kendra attended Heartland Community College in Normal, IL.
Kendra worked as a waitress/bartender in Kappa, IL. Previously, she worked at Woody’s Family Restaurant in Minonk, IL for 5 years as a waitress and later as a manager.
Kendra loved animals and helping people. She always had a smile on her face.
Pallbearers: James Wood, Jason Wood, Brandon McCulley, and Dylan Geringer.
Honorary Pallbearers: Ted New, Clayton Guengerich, and Richard Guengerich.
Her funeral was at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Graveside Service and Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Davis Special Cemetery in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.
Memorial contributions may be made to Davis Special Cemetery in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.
Local Arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Arkansas.
