William Calyton Tolbert, 47, a brick mason, died early Thursday at his home, 1223 Ross Ave., the apparent victim of a heart seizure. Mr. Tolbert was born in Cleveland, Miss., May 15, 1919, the son of James W. and Jane Stevens Tolbert. A longtime resident of El Dorado, he was a member of Second Baptist Church, and of Brick Masons Local No. Five and a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Howard Tolbert; his father, James W. Tolbert; and a daughter, Miss Tanya Tolbert, all of El Dorado; also three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Elmore of Longview, Tex., and Mrs. Lucille Hammond and Mrs. Hubert Rankin, both of El Dorado. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Rumph Mortuary with the Rev. Sam Shepperson officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. Pallbearers were W. A. Thurman, Leroy Crain, Ralph Elmore, Joe Mangum, A. M. Yocum and James Morris. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Brick Masons Local No. Five. (The El Dorado Times - September 1, 1966)
