Jerry Rufus, age 65, of 2123 Labette Manor Drive Y11, Little Rock died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Baptist Health Medical Center of Little Rock, AR. Mr. Rufus was born July 7, 1947 in Long Beach, CA. He is the son of the late S. B. and the late Willie (Evans) Rufus.
He retired from TDCD as a Truck Driver in 2012.
He is survived by three sons: Keith (Rebecca) Rufus of DeSoto, TX, Rodney Rufus and Jerry F. Rufus of Magnolia, AR; four daughters: Teresa Waller of Houston, TX, Veronica (Mark) Morris, Sandra (Sean) Rufus George, Felicia Rufus, all of Magnolia, AR; one brother: Billy Rufus and two sisters: Barbara Ann Rufus, and Helen Rufus Johnson of all of Little Rock, AR; He also has sixteen grandchildren: Marishna, Brandy, Joy, B'Yunca, Monica, Roderick, Markus, Jerric, Michael, Skylar, Marcus, D'Rod, Zachary, Jaylien, Christopher, and Zaria, two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Roderick; one uncle, Travis Rufus, Sr. of Camden, AR; three half-brothers, Tony, Jerome and Ronnie and five half-sisters, Shirley, Jackie, Evelyn, Bonnie, and Lisa all of California.
The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, August 25 at New Zion Baptist Church, Hwy 19, Magnolia, AR with Rev. Billy Rufus officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Emerson, under the direction of Henderson Funeral Service.
Calling hours will be from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the funeral home.
A wake will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012, from 7:00 - 8:00 pm at the A.C. Henderson Memorial Chapel, 614 Calhoun Rd., Magnolia.
